What Is Wrong With Doing Well In Your Comfort Zone?

Well, there are two points we have to consider to answer your question.

  • Being successful (which about doing well)
  • Being satisfied (how you feel about it).

If you think you are successful but not satisfied, then it’s time to ask yourself, “Why am I doing this in the first place?

Sometimes, we become busy achieving our goals that we forget why we do what we do.

Revisiting your BIG Why and values is a great help. If the success you have now (based on the conventional standards) does not align with your whys and values, you feel unsatisfied. Even if you have the trophy you wanted (literally or philosophically), deep inside you know, something is missing.

Now, if you think you are both successful and satisfied, congratulations! You are at the stage in your life that both your goals and values are aligned.

The satisfaction you feel about your success is surreal. The best feeling ever. A dream everyone wants. The best thing you can do is to celebrate each day with gratitude.

But here’s the caveat about being both successful and satisfied at the same time.

It is part of human nature to find new things.

No matter how much we say that we want a comfortable life, we seek to be uncomfortable. We want challenges. Staying in the comfort zone, though satisfying, is short-lived. Sooner or later, you will get too familiar with what you have. You will get bored. Enthusiasm will cease. You know it when you find yourself asking, “Okay, what’s next?”

And at that moment, you will start looking for new adventures.

Guess what, where it is? It is outside of your comfort zone.
