Online Business Is Not A Popularity Contest

I am always worried that having popularity due to online business will have a bad effect on my private life. I love to be recognized. It boosts my confidence. But, on the other hand, I hate to be popular. But I realize, you cannot detach or separate popularity from running an online business.

You have to promote your business and that includes you as the owner. People must know, like and trust you so that your business will thrive, or merely survive in the red ocean. My father Mario and mother Gloria is well known in our town as a bakery owner. My sister Ellaine is known for selling cake and pastries.

I guess I have the wrong notion about popularity and online business. Between becoming an influencer and becoming a business owner. They go hand in hand. Maybe, the word “influencer” is an overrated one.

When you are a business owner, you will do your best to influence other people to buy from you. That’s it! Know.Like.Trust. All businesses need to promote themselves. To let people know that they exist. If they don’t, the business will die even before you launch.
