It’s easy for you to give up when the odds are against you. It’s easy to give up and go back to where you come from. A place where everything is familiar. A place where you know the ups and downs, the twist and twirls.

But deep inside you know there is something missing. Deep inside, you want to break the shell and explore the unknown. To have the courage. To beat your enemy. You want to leave the safe zone and win the war against your inner critique. You want it so bad that you are willing to give up everything.

But then again, you lose again. The world is pressing you down. You are losing the battle. You want to stay down. You close your eyes. You don’t want to fight anymore. You’re powerless. You want to rest.

Right at the moment, you are about to give up and throw the towel, you hear voices. You thought it is a hallucination. But the voice becomes louder and louder but unclear. So loud, that you can’t help but look where it’s coming from. The moment you open your eyes, the voice becomes clearer.

Hey! You! Get up. Get up. You still have time. Get up. You have to resist the pain. You are not alone. Don’t you ever think that you’re the only one facing the challenges. Everyone does. And everyone will. There are no exemptions. So get up! Get up! Go back to why you ever started. Get up! Get up!

And so you try to stand up. You feel the excruciating pain. It cripples you down. Then you remember what the voice said,

“Go back to why you ever started.”

The voice does not say to go back “where” I started. But to why you started.

And it flashes back,

I want to be a better person.

A better husband.A better wife. A better partner.

I want to be loving.

A loving father. A loving mother. A loving child.

I want to fulfill my dreams.

To travel the world. To have a business. To be rich and famous.

I want to give back the blessings I received.

To help the poor. To build them house. To school them.

As you remember those, tears fall from your eyes.

You try it want more time. You push yourself up. , you are getting on your feet. It’s still painful but now it’s more tolerable.

As you stand up, you clenched your fist. But this time you are not careless anymore. You put your guards on.
Your opponent is hitting you. You know his energy will be diminished in a moment. You’re waiting for the right time. Right now you know what to do.

Then the opportunity comes.

Ting ting ting!

Knock out!
