Do you have time deciding for other people’s lives?
If not, then how can you expect them to decide for your life? They have their own priorities and you have your own priorities to take care of. Find your way. No one will fulfill your dreams for you. If you wait for others to do it for you, you will always be disappointed. It is not easy. But it is better to have a bad day working on your mission than having a good day working for others.
How about their expectations of me?
It is not about being selfish. It is not about a question of loyalty. It is a question of being true to yourself and helping others by being you. Self-imposed expectations should help you expand not contract. The moment you feel like a crumpled sh**t of paper, it’s time to step back and reconsider.
